Gold biscuits smuggled from Sri Lanka seized in India

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) in India has struck a hat-trick, seizing 28 kg of gold biscuits smuggled from Sri Lanka via the sea route in three separate incidents - one in Coimbatore and two in Ramanathapuram district.
Acting on specific intelligence, DRI teams from Thoothukudi and Coimbatore made the seizures on Saturday after arresting at least seven persons and intercepting a car and two-wheeler, DRI sources said, according to The Hindu newspaper.
